Calico Rock Home Economics Building
Calico Rock, Izard County

Young National Youth Administration workers cut the flint stone for this building by hand from a quarry about a quarter mile away. Work started in December 1940 after long delays, and a student reporter called the design "one of the most modern" for small home economics cottages. It still serves the Calico Rock schools.
