Men of the CCC's 741st Company, camped nearby at Crystal Springs, built this stone bathhouse around 1938 for a small public swimming and picnic area in the Ouachita National Forest. Look for the sloping stone corners that are a CCC trademark. Charlton Recreation Area lies along U.S. 270 east of Mount Ida.
