Crossroads Fire Tower
Hamburg, Ashley County

This 120-foot galvanized steel lookout, made by the Aermotor Company, was put up by the Civilian Conservation Corps in Ashley County. A house for the tower's operator was built on the same land. It is a good surviving example of the more than 3,000 fire towers the CCC erected nationwide.
