CCC Company 741 was camped right here at Crystal Springs when it built a fieldstone dam across Montgomery Creek in 1935, making a swimming pond, and a log picnic shelter just downstream. Both were listed on the National Register in 1993, but the shelter was destroyed in 2016 when a tree fell on it.
