Joseph Taylor Robinson Memorial Auditorium
Little Rock, Pulaski County

Little Rock voters approved bonds in 1937 to match federal Public Works Administration money, and this Art Deco auditorium was dedicated in 1940. It was named for Senator Joe T. Robinson, who helped bring New Deal projects to Arkansas. Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald and Eleanor Roosevelt all appeared here. Now called Robinson Center, it is home to the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra.
