Monticello post office mural
Monticello, Drew County

Berta Margoulies modeled these three reliefs straight in terra cotta clay and fired them in a kiln, a harder method than usual. The 1940 set shows tomato farming: a man plowing with two mules, a woman picking tomatoes, and a man with baskets ready for market. They are now in the Monticello Economic Development Commission building.
