Phillips County Penal Farm Historic District
Poplar Grove, Phillips County

Phillips County convicts worked the fields at this county farm near Poplar Grove by day and slept in cells at night. In 1935 and 1936 the WPA approved money to build a concrete detention home, and the two-story main jail is its work. The complex is abandoned and overgrown, so look from the road.
