Louis Freund's 1939 mural tells Pocahontas history in one picture: Davidsonville, where Arkansas's first post office opened in 1817; a mill on the Eleven Point River around 1835; and the busy river town of about 1900 with its courthouse and the big Biggers Hotel. It now hangs in the Arkansas State University Museum in Jonesboro.
