Shady Lake Bathhouse
Mena, Polk County

The CCC's 742nd Company, the second CCC camp in Arkansas, started building the Shady Lake dam in 1935. Around 1940 they built this log bathhouse: two changing rooms joined by covered walkways to a concession stand. The camping and picnic area is still open in the Ouachita National Forest.
