Washington Courthouse repairs
Washington, Hempstead County
The Civil Works Administration repaired Hempstead County's aging 1874 courthouse in Washington. A few years later, in 1939, the PWA built a new courthouse in Hope after the county seat moved. The 1874 courthouse is now the visitor center at Historic Washington State Park.
